Reg Riot
Bass Guitar backing vocals.
I learned guitar while at school. In the early 70s I formed a band with friends called “Skybird” and learned bass guitar by listening and playing along to records. Pat joined us on guitar and vocals in the mid 70s and wrote most of the songs. Sadly Pat left in the late 70s but I carried on until I got married and had kids in 1982.
In 2005 after a divorce and kids growing up I was encouraged to pick up my bass once again and joined a rock band which morphed into “Snakebite” a White-snake tribute. We played some great venues up and down the country for about three years.
I joined “TOPGUNS” an 80s covers band in 2011 and Pat came along to see one of our gigs. We kept in touch after that on FB. Then in March 2022 I got a message from Pat saying a new folk rock band he had just joined were looking for a bass player. So I went along with my bass to meet the guys and everything just clicked into place, “Shanakee” was born.
So Pat and I are now sharing the stage once again after a hiatus of 45 years.
